| This week in STEM 3k had to build a structure to support their diary. It was very hard and challenging, although some people still finished. We used playdough and toothpics the one with green playdough and triangles is Mrs Ebbs'. It was hard because at the start none of the structures were stong enough to stay up with a diary on them even Mrs Ebbs' fell down once. Next week we are doing it again I am going to try using more toothpics and triangles I never got mine finished last week because it kept on falling down. by KATY |

Are venus flytraps animals or plants? They eat meat which makes them carnivorous. If they eat meat doesn't that make them an animal? Leave a comment about reasons for this creature being a plant or an animal. I have included some pictures of different types of venus flytraps. Today in science with Mrs Ebbs. we studied things that are alive or not alive through photos. we all had a great time .we all got into groups of three. The 3/k students got to work deciding if or not they were alive.
We had so many creative ways to make a pyramid. Some people folded triangles and stuck them together. Some people rolled paper and built a frame of the pyramid. Lots of talking about edges, sides, and corners. We also to define a square pyramid vs a triangular pyramid. In Science we are studying Feathers, Fur and Leaves. Last lesson we went of a tour of the school to look for living and non-living things. We found plants and insects. We also found lots on non living things like concrete, buildings, bins, posts. Last lesson 3K experimented with how to build the tallest tower they could using 3 pieces of newspaper and 3 pieces of sticky tape. They discovered if you roll the paper on the diagonal it will make the tower taller.
Year 3 then also formed tripods to add some stability. It was a great lesson. |
