The Earth moves by orbiting around the sun. It takes the Earth one day or 24 hours to orbit around the sun. A day takes up 24 hours and a year has 365 days.

In one day there are 24 hours, this is how long it takes the earth to spin around it's axis of rotation. In one year there are 365 days and a quarter. It takes this long for the earth to orbit the sun.

It takes 365 days for the earth to orbit around the sun and that creates day and night. This year Mars was said to be a second moon but it was a hoax instead it looked like a large star. The moon takes 27 days,7 hours and 48 minutes (to be exact) to rotate around the earth. In July there was a meteor shower for a week at least.

Shadows change because of the way the earth orbits around the sun. When the sun is in the middle of the sky our shadow is under us. When the sun is on the right side of the earth, your shadow would be on the left side of you. When the sun is on the left side of the earth your shadow would be on the left side of you.
